Dependable Disposal’s state-of-the-art automated pickup service makes trash collection easy, clean and efficient. Residents enjoy large, easy-to-use wheeled totes with attached lids that prevent debris from blowing around the neighborhood and eliminate problems with pests.
Dependable’s specially designed trucks feature a hydraulic “arm” that quickly extends from the truck, empties the tote and returns it to the ground without the manual assistance of the operator. The streamlined process reduces the unsightly clutter that comes with multiple trash cans and overflowing recycling bins.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to bag my trash?
No. But, please use bags when possible to improve the cleanliness of pickup.
Do I have to separate my recycling?
No. Simply place all recyclables in your tote.
What WILL be picked up on my regular trash day?
You may place the following small items in your tote:
- Up to 10 Rolls of Carpet/Padding Cut in 3′ x 3′ Sections
- Small Chairs
- Small Children’s Toys
- End Tables
- Cushions
- Shelving (Max 3’ Length)
- Lamps
- Vacuum Cleaners
- Small Appliances (e.g. Toaster Oven)
- Small Patio Furniture (Plastic/Metal)
- Fallen Tree Fruit (e.g. Apples, Max 3 Small Bags per Week)
What WILL NOT be picked up on my regular trash day?

- Upholstered Chair
- Recliner
- Couch (Regular or Pull-Out)
- Loveseat
- Table
- Dressers
- Cribs (Broken Down)
- Uncut Carpet (Max 8’ Length)
- Box Spring Set (All Sizes)
Please note that each household is allowed two (2) of these items per year at no charge.
Is there a charge for items that are not listed above?

Dependable Tote Basics
Each Camillus resident has two (2) 95-gallon totes for trash and recycling.
Because the totes accommodate much more material, recycling pickup is every other week. Trash pickup remains weekly.
Residents MUST use the totes, which are specially designed for the robotic “arm” used to pick them up. Regular trash cans, blue bins and loose bags are NOT accepted, as the automated system cannot pick them up. Only the totes can be picked up by the robotic system.

To keep collection running smoothly, we ask for cooperation on a few items:
Please use the specially designed Dependable totes.
Please place everything in the tote, even if the lid doesn’t close.
Please put each tote on opposite sides of your driveway or leave at least two (2) feet of clearance if placing them next to each other.
Please place your totes as close to the edge of the curb as possible and face the arrows on the lid toward the street.
Please have your totes out the night before pickup. Dependable collection begins at 6 a.m.
