Each SOTS (Southern Onondaga Trash System) resident receives two totes; one for trash and one for recycling. Residents MUST use the totes, which are specially designed for the robotic “arm” used to pick them up on our trucks. Regular trash cans, blue bins and loose bags are NOT accepted, as the automated system cannot pick them up. Only the totes can be picked up by the robotic system. Residents are billed for their first two totes through their taxes while all additional totes are billed directly by Dependable Disposal.
